<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic carrier less liable to affect the environment, free from carrier sticking and excellent in durability. SOLUTION: A core material using iron, oxygen and magnesium as principal constituent components and containing 0.5-10 wt.% magnesium is coated with a resin to obtain the objective electrophotographic carrier having 55-85 Am2/kg saturation magnetization, <=3 Am2/kg residual magnetization and <=4 kA/m coercive force. When the saturation magnetization of the carrier is represented byσs (Am2/kg) and 1% particle diameter of the volume-base particle size distribution of the carrier is represented by x1 (μm),σs and x1 satisfy the expression (1/σs)μ750<=x1.</p> |
