PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide desired a humidifying capacity even in silent mode. SOLUTION: In a humidifier which is arranged to humidify the air by reserving the water supplied from a water suction pipe 2 in a humidifying container 3 and rotating the water suction pipe 4, according to a selected humidification mode, in condition that the bottom of the water suction pipe 4 is soaked in the humidifying container, and sucking up the water within the humidifying container by centrifugal force, and then, sprinkling it into the air current going outward obtained by the rotation drive of a fan 5, the number of revolutions of the fan 5 and the water suction pipe 4 are minimized and the quantity of heating by heating means 21 is increased, if a silent mode is selected for the humidifying mode.
