PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection work display device for an elevator of excellent convenience which can be easily stored in a pit. SOLUTION: An inspection work display body 5 disposed on a jamb 2 at a doorway to an elevator to display inspection work being conducted is provided with a rod body 6 comprising hard material and provided with an expansion means, and a display screen 7 comprising flexible material to display inspection being conducted. On the rod body 6, a holding part capable of holding an expanded state of it in a specified length is provided, and on the display screen 7, an insertion cylinder part in which the rod body 6 is inserted is provided. For conducting maintenance and inspection, the rod body 6 is extended, and both ends of it are abutted on both side surfaces 2A and 2B of the jamb to stretch and fix it. At a normal time other than maintenance and inspection, the rod body 6 is contracted to the shortest length size, and the display screen 7 is wound around the rod body 6 to be stored in the pit.
