PURPOSE:To enable text processing even for various types of texts by processing the different types of texts by discriminating a processable character atribute by using a character attribute classification table for a process-impossible character attribute. CONSTITUTION:In order to process the text using the character attribute, a character attribute information storage part 14 stores a character attribute classification table 15 composed of descriptions prepared by hierarchically classifying character attribute information. Corresponding to the character attribute set to the character strings of the text, a text processing part 12 performs the processing of character modification to the relevant character string or retrieval processing based on the character attribute. In that case, concerning process-imposible the character attribute in a document processing system in this case, the character attribute classification table 15 stored in the character attribute information storage part 14 is referred to, according to those described contents, the character attribute possible to be processed by this document system is discriminated, and processing is continued by substituting for the character attribute, for example. Then, the result is outputted to an output text 16. |
