PURPOSE: Provided is instant coffee powder added with a botanic additive, such as powder or concentrates of Xanthium strumarium, Lonicera japonica Thunb., Smilax china, or a mixture thereof. Therefore, the instant coffee powder has very pleasant flavor and a good taste. CONSTITUTION: The instant coffee powder added with a botanic additive is characterized by adding 5-40 wt.% of powder of Xanthium strumarium, Lonicera japonica Thunb., Smilax china, or a mixture thereof to 60-95 wt.% of coffee powder or granules, or adding 2-15 wt.% of concentrates of the above botanic material to 85-98 wt.% of coffee powder or granules. It is optionally added with Siegesbeckia glabrescens Makino., Agrimonia pilosa, Synurus deltoidos, Gastrodia elata BL., Echinopanax horridum, Orostachys japonicus, Acanthopanax nticosus, Paeonia japonica var. pilosa, Eucommia ulmoides Oliver, Angelica gigas Nakai, Schizandra chinensis Baillon, Epimedium koreanum, Ganoderma Lucidum(FR)Karst and the like.
