PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal deflection circuit, which generates a retrace pulse by using two switching elements, with a means for solving the problem such as destruction of the switching element or the like even when a DC main power supply voltage fluctuates. SOLUTION: In the horizontal deflection circuit, parallel connections between switching elements 4, 7, between damper diodes 5, 8, and between resonance capacitors 6, 9 are connected in series and power is supplied to the connecting points via a flyback transformer 1. A comparator 13 compares retrace pulse voltages of the two switching elements and feeds back its output to an amplitude control circuit 20, the off timing phase of the switching element 7 is controlled so as to make the sum constant, an amplitude limit circuit 14 starts limiting the voltage amplitude when the retrace pulse voltage of the switching element 7 exceeds a prescribed value and a time constant control circuit 15 gradually releases the limit. |
