PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse power supply which can be operated in safety with reduced capacitance to ground without use of an isolation transformer of large size. SOLUTION: The pulse power supply generates voltage or stops generation of voltage from a direct-current power supply or an initially charged capacitor by on/off-controlling a semiconductor switch. Both ends of the semiconductor switch are connected with a gate control power supply; and the gate control power supply, a gate circuit, and the semiconductor switch are connected. Then an external signal is applied to the gate circuit and the semiconductor switch is thereby on/off-controlled. A plurality of the semiconductor switches are connected in series; and the semiconductor switche, the gate circuit, and the gate control power supplies are constituted as one semiconductor switch unit. A plurality of the semiconductor switch units is connected in series.
