PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, an image processing method, and its storage medium that assign a plurality of colors to a character area. SOLUTION: The image processing method includes a step S3002 of applying character segmentation processing to a character area detected from color image data and a step S3004 of introducing some representative colors among a plurality of colors configuring characters of the character area and assigning one color in the representative colors to a character segmentation unit.
