PURPOSE: A method for relaying contents for payment is provided to relay and write web contents without a program for additional edition by a web gateway which acts for writing used contents between a web server and a client. CONSTITUTION: When a user connects to a web server and selects contents from a contents provider, a web gateway refers to information of a corresponding contents provider and subscriber(301) and checks if a service supply is possible(302). If the service is available, the web gateway constitutes "HTTP(Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) REQUEST packet", transmits the packet to a corresponding contents provider(305), and receives corresponding charged web contents from the corresponding contents provider(306,307). A file form of the corresponding charged web contents is checked. If the file form is an HTTP file(309), the web gateway converts all contents provider addresses of the HTTP file into addresses which pass the web gateway and have the original link information supplied from the corresponding contents provider(310), transmits the addresses to the user(311), and records usage details of charged web contents(312).
