PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a memory controller capable of performing a series of data write processings to a flash memory at higher speed. SOLUTION: The memory controller accesses a memory consisting of a plurality of physical blocks based on a host address to be supplied from a host computer and is provided with a means to sort each of the physical blocks into a plurality of groups, a means to form a plurality of virtual blocks by virtually coupling the plurality of physical blocks belonging to mutually different groups and a means to allocate the adjacent host addresses to the mutually different physical blocks in the virtual block for the virtual block belonging to a first group and to allocate the adjacent host addresses in the same physical block in the virtual block for the virtual block belonging to a second group among the plurality of virtual blocks.
