PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously perform a picture quality correction processing corresponding to the feature of a pattern and a picture quality correction processing corresponding to an oblique line. SOLUTION: A TV receiver is provided with an I/P converting device having an obliqueness correction circuit for performing an obliqueness correction processing and which conducts interlace/progressive conversion to an inputted interlace signal, a movement detecting circuit which is incorporated in the I/P converting device so as to detect a pattern movement amount or a pattern detecting circuit for detecting a two-dimensional pattern change amount and a picture quality correction processing circuit for performing a picture quality correction processing such as a horizontal light frequency range emphasis processing or a vertical high frequency range emphasis processing with respect to a signal which is outputted from the I/P converting device. The receiver is also provided with a detection signal enlarging circuit for calculating the signals which are outputted from the obliqueness correction circuit and the movement or pattern detecting circuit and two-dimensionally enlarging them. Then the picture quality correction processing is performed to prevent aliasing in the oblique line corresponding to the feature of the pattern.
