PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital plate inspection device which can perform accurate plate inspection with respect rasterized data after RIP(Raster Image Processing) expansion. SOLUTION: A digital plate inspection device 1 specifies a pattern area in the rasterized data, after RIP expansion which is to be an object of plate inspection, and extracts identification information embedded in the specified pattern area. In a pattern as an image component, identification information is previously embedded by a specific method, and this identification information is extracted from the rasterized data and compared with identification information of an instruction document (or editing data), to decide whether the pattern is correct.
