PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone suppressing device that can automatically activate or stop operation of a mobile phone, depending on whether or not performance has begun. SOLUTION: The mobile phone suppressing device comprises a lighting fixture 3, a dimmer controller 1 that controls the lighting fixture 3 to manually change the lightness, a dimmer 2 that controls power supplied to the lighting fixture 3 on the basis of a manipulated variable of the dimmer controller 1, a suppressing device 4 comprising an antenna for emitting a suppression radio wave to suppress transmission reception of a mobile phone, and a control means 5 that controls operation/stop of the suppressing device 4. The control means 5 discriminates whether or not a performance has begun in a theater according to the environment of the theater, supplies power to the suppressing device 4 to activate the device 4 so as to suppress transmission/reception of the mobile phone when the discrimination result indicates that the performance has started or shuts off the power to the suppressing device 4 so as to attain transmission/ reception by the mobile phone when the discrimination result indicates that the performance has not started.
