PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain satisfactory recording and reproducing characteristics by suppressing the winding load accompanied by the increase of tape tension and the deformation of the reel accompanied by welding while dealing with the increase of recording capacity and securing the accuracy of the tape running height. SOLUTION: A disk like flange 4 is welded to the end part of a cylindrical hub 2 on the outer peripheral surface of which a tape is to be wound and the flange 4 is formed by using a resin material having an elastic modulus equal to that of the resin material of the hub 2 or more.
