PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording and reproducing device in which the performance deterioration of information reproduction is reduced by reducing the erroneous detection of a data synchronization signal in the detection of the data synchronization signal and varying a retry method depending on whether the main cause of an error in occurrence of a retry error when information reproduction is the erroneous detection of the data synchronization signal, so as to perform optimal retry.
