PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron core winding apparatus which assures smooth and continuous iron core winding work without deformation of iron core material even for an intermediate size transformer with capacity of 10 kVA or more. SOLUTION: This iron core winding apparatus comprises a coil holding means for holding and shifting a coil C, a cylinder 1 which has rigidity and can be divided in the circumferential direction in order to include a leg CL1 and winding iron core M through interlinkage with the coil, a horizontal rack 10 with three or more rollers 6 supporting the lower part of the cylinder to freely rotate, support rolls 2 which are externally in contact with the cylinder to support to freely rotate the cylinder, an external drive roll 2A for driving at least one of these support rolls 2, and a delivery means (rotating board 5) for deliveriy an iron core material M1 of a winding iron core in the same velocity as the circumferential velocity of the cylinder.
