The flat-track test stand has a frame, deflection rollers, belt, cylinders for producing the belt tension, support wheel with vertical main cylinder, and cylinders for vertically moving the frame. A wheel under test can be moved vertically by the main cylinder in accordance with a predetermined distance-time characteristic. The flat-track unit is vertically movable. The movement of the main cylinder is such that the belt remains between the deflection rollers and stretched on the tread of the wheel.
