The present invention is a multi axis fiber optic ribbon, which has a central portion and plurality of wings or extensions extending from the central portion in different directions. Each of the wings or extensions contain optical fibers, and can be removed from the central portion to allow splicing of the fibers in that extension without requiring removal of matrix material around the remaining extensions. Further, the central portion and the extensions are made from commonly known and used fiber ribbon matrix material, and the multi axis ribbon is manufactured in the same way, or similar manner, as current fiber optic ribbons. The present invention also has identifiers for each of the wings or extensions to allow easy identification of the wings or extensions during maintenance, installation, or splicing.
