<p>The industrial truck has a safety unit with a position measuring device, which records the position of a load installed on the load carrier, and an identification unit which compares the recorded position of the load with reference positions, and with a deviation of the recorded position from the reference positions sends out a warning signal. The identification unit sends out a warning signal in the event of a lift failure for the load carrier or if the load carrier does not fully enter the pallet.
