Heater comprises one or more heating members(1) following a meandering path between two tubular bodies(5,6) radially compressed together. When compressed the heating member contacts both tubular bodies and at least part of its cross-section is embedded in a groove formed during the compression. The cylindrical chamber inside the inner tubular body forms a sliding fit onto a cylindrical machine part to be heated.
