<p>The present invention generally relates to an apparatus and method for urging fluid from a charging system to a pressurized system. The apparatus (20) has a rigid body (90) with a conduit (68) defined therein. The body (90) is mounted between, and connected to, a charging system (24) containing pressurized fluid (22) and a pressurized system (26). When the body (90) is connected to both the charging system (24) and the pressurized system (26), a force may be applied on the charging system (24) toward the pressurized system (26). The force causes the charging system (24) and the pressurized system (26) to mate with the body (90). The mating of the body (90) to the charging system (24) and the pressurized system (26) urges a discharge tube (56) of the charging system (24) to retract, thereby actuating a first valve (60), operatively connected thereto, to release fluid into the conduit (68), and urges a pin (162) of the pressurized system (26) to retract. The retraction of the pin (162) actuates a second valve (160), opratively connected to the pin, to permit the fluid (22) in the conduit to enter the pressrized system (26).</p> |
