PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a music distribution system which enables a user who wants to obtains music data to narrow down the range of pieces of music chronologically in the case where the user does not remember the time when an objective piece of music was popular. SOLUTION: When the actual age or the year of birth of the user are inputted in a first input screen 31 of a communication terminal such as a mobile phone and the growth period of the user corresponding to the time the objective piece of music was popular is selected in a second input screen 32, a server automatically specifies the time when the objective piece was popular in accordance with input data and transmits a list of pieces of music which were popular at that time to the terminal.
