PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a aerodynamic brake for a railroad vehicle which is less affected by wind pressure regardless of running direction when developing a aerodynamic brake plate. SOLUTION: Linear guide rails 13La, 13Lb, 13Ra and 13Rb is mounted and fixed on a vehicle body 2 so as to extend in a vertical face orthogonal to the vehicle's running direction. Linear guide blocks 15La-15Lc, and 15Ra-15Rc which lock linear guide rails in a slidable manner are provided on the aerodynamic brake plates 12L and 12R. Air cylinders 16L and 16R are provided between the aerodynamic brake plates 12L and 12R and the vehicle body, and the aerodynamic plates 12L and 12R can be developed and stored by the air cylinders 16L and 16R.
