PURPOSE: A control method in upshifting from 2 to 3-range of an automatic transmission for a vehicle is provided to improve shift quality, and to stabilize learning by restricting run-up with reducing output of an engine timely. CONSTITUTION: Downshift from 3 to 2-speed is detected in deciding upshifting from 2 to 3-speed(S100), and fill time is controlled by comparing oil temperature with the predetermined value(S120,S130). The learning zone is decided(S140), and the throttle opening degree is compared with the predetermined value(S150). Correction control is performed according to the learning zone(S160). The learning zone is decided, and total control is performed in case of the throttle opening degree to be more than the predetermined value(S170,S180). Learning stability is improved by restricting run-up with reducing output of the engine timely.
