PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet shaped medium aligning device, an image forming device and a sheet shaped medium after treatment device capable satisfactorily aligning a sheet shaped medium regardless of a curled condition or a loaded condition the sheet shaped medium. SOLUTION: A returning means 121 is set displaceable between an optional home position I and a hold/return position II. Before a tip art of the delivered sheet shaped medium S1 gets into contact with an upper surface of the loaded sheet shaped medium S2, the returning means 121 is positioned at the hold/return position II and retains the loaded sheet shaped medium S2 at a set position with the holding motion. The return means 121 butts the dropped sheet shaped medium S1 to an upright wall 131 after the delivered sheet shaped medium S1 drops on a loading means 12, then an aligning means aligns the sheet shaped medium S1 in the direction passing through the paper surface.
