摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color pattern, which eliminates a cost problem of having an enormous number of drive circuits, on a signal side, i.e., at electrodes in the longitudinal direction, having 3 times as many as lateral pixels, in a color pattern with red, green, and blue as a basic color constitution, in a planar display device having pixels of a XY matrix type sequence such as conventional PDP, LCD or EL. SOLUTION: The color pattern is changed into a stripe constitution having red, green, blue, green, and red, which increases green lines, and conversely a stripe constitution which reduces red and blue against green, thus relatively decreasing the number of the electrodes in the longitudinal direction without reducing resolution. So that a remarkable cost reduction is realized.
