PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To diagnose a failure whether or not a collision judging data group stored is normal and repair the collision judging data group which is judged as the failure in a controller of an air bag for a vehicle, provided with a CPU and a RAM, for judging by comparing an output signal of an acceleration sensor (G sensor) with the collision judging data group (collision judging data threshold group). SOLUTION: At least two collision judging threshold group (collision judging data group) is stored in an EEPROM, a failure diagnosis is made for each collision judging data group stored (S10 to S16), when either of them is judged as a failure, the collision judging data group not judged as a failure is overwritten in the collision data group judged as the failure and repaired (S18, S20, S22, S34, S36).
