PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator equipped with a cross fin type heat exchanger having a high heat exchanger effectiveness. SOLUTION: The refrigerator has in a machine chamber a partition wall partitioning the machine chamber, a compressor placed in one of chambers partitioned by the partition wall and a blower installed at the partition wall. The refrigerator is equipped with the cross fin type heat exchanger which is installed in the chamber wherein the compressor is not placed, so that the exchanger is arranged so as to be opposite to the blower, and one or both ends of the exchanger in the horizontal direction are bent or curved in the direction of the partition wall.
