PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact X-ray image intensifier apparatus reduced in weight and enhancing image quality. SOLUTION: The X-ray image intensifier apparatus is constituted so that lead plates 6 and 6a capable of shielding X-rays are provided in the space between the X-ray shielding member holders 4 (4A, 4B, 4C and 4D) positioned inside envelopes 5 and 5a housing an angle of view surrounding the visible light image output of an X-ray image tube 1 by a lens and the X-ray image tube. Therefore, the outer diameter dimension of the X-ray image intensifier apparatus is not increased and the compact and lightweight X-ray image intensifier apparatus reduced in the usage of lead is obtained.
