PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collecting method for chicken eggs and an apparatus for the same, by which the chicken eggs can be packaged in a transparent pack or a tray at a high speed. SOLUTION: A chicken egg collecting apparatus 12 comprises a transfer/ distribution means 7 for transferring chicken eggs 2, whose physical properties are detected and which are arranged in a plurality of rows, and distributing the chicken eggs 2 sorted over according to each physical property; a temporary storing means 8 for temporarily storing the distributed chicken eggs 2 according to their physical property corresponding to each row; and a traveling means 13 for making travel a plurality of housing containers 9 so that a prescribed number of stored chicken eggs 2 are housed in a forefront empty housing containers 9, a plurality of the housing containers 9 arranged to be used in common to each row, and the housing containers housing the chicken eggs 2 are collected in respective collecting positions to have the same physical property.
