PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polishing method and a device for a connecting end surface of optical fiber in an optical fiber connector with accuracy for a short time. SOLUTION: The polishing method for a connecting end surface of optical fiber connector is applied to an optical fiber connector which provides an optical fiber 2 in the core of a ferrule 1 and whose connecting end is polished together with the ferrule. A rotary polishing disk 4 which has an abrasive surface 5 corresponding to a profile of surface to be polished, on the outer peripheral 4a is prepared. A polishing point P1 is decided by positioning the axial center of the ferrule on an axis line Ax which extends along the radial direction of the rotary polishing disk. As the rotary polishing disk and the ferrule are brought closer relatively at the polishing point and the rotary polishing disk is rotated at a high speed around the rotary axis 3, by swinging the rotary polishing disk and the ferrule relatively around the center of the ferrule axis, the connecting end surface of the optical fiber connector is polished.
