PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of the shape of a disk becoming large or disk strength decreases to cause decrease in detection accuracy, since the number of through holes in the disk needs to be increased to improve the resolution of detected rotation angle. SOLUTION: The rotation angle detection apparatus comprises a disk 7 having first through-holes 6, that are arranged circumferentially at specific intervals, and deficient sections 8 that are arranged at specific positions at specific intervals in multiples and whose transmission area changes linearly in circumferential direction, first and second sensor elements 1 and 2 that are arranged corresponding to the first through-holes, a third sensor element 3 that is arranged, corresponding to the deficient section of the disk, a first signal- processing section for calculating the rotary angle and rotary direction of the disk using the signals of the first and second sensor elements, and a second signal-processing section for processing a linear signal, according to the rotation angle and rotation direction of the disk using the signal of the third sensor element. |
