PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming delicate and highly accurate stripe type ink pattern on the inside surface 13 of a ring type seamless belt 10 by printing, and a device for forming the ink pattern. SOLUTION: The pattern is formed by a method wherein the belt 10 is fixed onto a surface plate 41 to secure the forming area of a given pattern on the inside surface 13 of the belt 10 and, thereafter, (I) a pattern forming body (cylindrical blanket 30) is abutted against the area to print and form the stripe type ink pattern whose direction is parallel to the axial direction y of the belt and, subsequently, (II) the belt 10 is moved by turning until a new pattern forming area develops on the surface plate 41 to effect transferring operation on the new area after effecting the operation described in (I). The belt 10 is moved by turning through a driving roller 22. The cylindrical blanket 30 is retained ratably by a moving means (trestle) whereby the movement of the blanket into a space formed by the belt 10 and the contact or separate of the blanket between the inside surface 13 of the belt can be controlled.
