PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hot slitting method for a continuously cast slab, which enables on-line slitting of a cast slab in a hot state produced by continuous casting. SOLUTION: The cast slab 13 in a hot state cast by the continuous casting machine 11 is slit parallel to a transferring direction of the cast slab 13 by a high speed cutting device 15 to make plural narrow cast slabs 14.
