摘要 |
A sintered body comprising 40% titanium carbide and 60% steel is formed by mixed 1000 gms of titanium carbide 5-7 microns in size with 1500 gms carbonyl irons powder of 20 microns average size and containing 0.8% carbon and milling for 40 hours with 0.1% of paraffin wax using hexane as the vehicle. The mix is subsequently vacuum dried compressed into a billet and sintered in vacuum at 1435 DEG C. for 30 minutes. After cooling the body is heated to 900 DEG C. for 2 hours and cooled at 15 DEG C. hour to 100 DEG C. to produce an annealed structure containing spheroidite. |
