<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plate thickness control method in cold rolling which minimizes a plate thickness variation due to limitation in speed uniformity of mill motors at each stand, and meets a strong demand on speed stability of steel strip at the exit of the final stand. SOLUTION: In the plate thickness control method for cold rolling that a plate thickness is controlled by regulating a mill motor speed at each of stands 1, 2, 3, 4 in a tandem rolling mill used for cold rolling of steel plate, a stand to keep a mill motor speed constant is selected depending on the degree of demand on a draft at the final stand 5 and/or speed stability of steel strip at the exit of the final stand.</p> |
