PURPOSE: A rubber composition for a tire tread is provided, to improve the braking property, to reduce the rotation resistance and to prevent the deterioration of scotch stability during the process by increasing the degree of modification of terminal groups of rubber chain and reducing the degree of movement of the terminal groups. CONSTITUTION: The rubber composition comprises 10-80 parts by weight of a solution polymerization styrene-butadiene rubber whose both terminals are modified with an amine and a silane compound; a butadiene rubber; and optionally carbon black and silica as a reinforcing agent. Preferably the solution polymerization styrene-butadiene rubber is prepared by polymerizing styrene and butadiene by using the tertiary amine represented by the formula 1 as an anion polymerization initiator, and reacting the terminal anion with the silane compound represented by Si(OR)4, wherein R is a linear or branched alkyl group of C1-C3; and R' is a pentyl or isopentyl group. The content of styrene and vinyl of the solution polymerization styrene-butadiene rubber is 10-45 wt% and 25-75 wt%, respectively. |
