PURPOSE: To provide an air conditioner in which its installing space can be reduced and it can be mounted within a narrow toilet room. CONSTITUTION: A rear base plate 1b is arranged in a vertical orientation, a middle plate 5 is installed at an intermediate part of the rear base plate 1b. A box element 6, a water receiving pan 7, a heat exchanger 8, a blowing grill 9 and a power supply board 10 are stacked up from below in this order at an upper part of the middle plate 5. Each of the structural components is fixed to the rear base plate 1b at its rear surface with screws 11.
