PURPOSE: A method and a system for providing broadcasting contents by using a satellite are provided to reduce time and cost, and make effective broadcasting by automatizing manufacturing and transmitting system for own channels of local cable service providers. CONSTITUTION: A system for providing broadcasting contents by using a satellite includes a plurality of ground wave, satellite, cable broadcasting stations(10); relay centers(20) receiving broadcasting programs from the broadcasting stations and storing the programs at a database, manufacturing an EPG screen with editing the stored programs, and transmitting the processed digital broadcasting contents to each local cable service provider(40) through a satellite(30); the satellite transmitting the digital broadcasting contents to each local cable service provider; the plurality of local cable service providers receiving digital broadcasting contents and storing the contents at a database, changing and modifying the contents of the EPG screen, and transmitting the broadcasting programs and the EPG screen to a plurality of households(60) according to a self-made broadcasting schedule; a cable local network(50) constructed by the local cable service providers in each area; and the plurality of households joining in the local cable service providers for watching the digital broadcasting cable contents.
