The device has a compressor rotor (7) in an intake channel (8) and a compressor exhaust flow section downstream of the rotor outlet edge. The section is associated with a connection channel (10), a cylindrical calming chamber (11) with larger cross section, and an exhaust channel (12) next to the channel, to remove the compressed medium from the compressor (3). The connection channel opens into the calming chamber with sideward offset to a longitudinal central axis (17) of the chamber. Connection channel and exhaust channel enclose an angle. The exhaust channel is formed as a diffuser.
