The invention relates to a fuel storage tank (12) with a plurality of subsections (14, 16) the bottoms (15, 17) of which are separate from one another, and in which a delivery unit (20) is disposed which delivers the fuel at least indirectly from a first subsection (14) to an internal combustion engine (10) of the motor vehicle. An injector (40) delivers the fuel from another subsection (16) to the first subsection (14) of the fuel storage tank. Said injector (40) is provided with a fuel supply (50) which supplies the fuel quantity required to drive the injector (40), said injector (40) having a delivery line (42, 56) through which the fuel delivered by the injector (40) is conveyed to the first subsection (14). The injector (40) comprises a pressure limiting valve (70) inside its fuel supply (50) that is opened when a predetermined pressure is exceeded and which allows a partial quantity of the fuel supplied to the injector (40) to drive it to run off. The partial fuel quantity controlled to run off by the pressure limiting valve (70) is supplied to the supply line (42, 56) of the injector (40) or separately to the first subsection (14) of the fuel storage tank (12).
