Production of storage minerals comprises mixing up to 50 wt.% combustion residues, 10-90 wt.% water-containing substances and optionally calcium oxide in a reactor at 100-400 deg C for 15-180 minutes in a water vapor atmosphere at pressures of 1-10, preferably 1.5-5 bar; converting into storage minerals; and cooling in a further reactor to less than 40 deg C within 5-20 minutes.
