PURPOSE: A linear motion apparatus of a tray for a microwave oven is provided to make the best use of space by moving the rectangular tray linearly, and to reduce noise and wearing by minimizing friction and actively moving the tray in the groove. CONSTITUTION: A linear motion device of a tray(10) for a microwave oven is composed of the rectangular tray putting food on a cavity, and having a groove(10a) in the lower part; a driving motor(M) generating rotational force; a rotating member(22) having an eccentric protrusion(22a), and rotating by the driving motor; a bearing member(22r) inserted to the groove to move the tray linearly in turning the rotating member; and a roller assembly(26) between the lower part of the cavity and the tray for linear reciprocation motion of the tray. The tray is moved actively, and friction between the tray and the eccentric protrusion is prevented with the roller assembly.
