<p>A concrete laminate panel 1 comprises a sealant layer 2, a first layer of concrete 4, a second layer of concrete 6 and a backing board 8. The sealant layer 2, such as a urethane, provides a transparent waterproof and alcohol resistant layer with excellent wear properties both in a dry and wet condition and may contain an ultra violet filter to prevent yellowing. It may also contain an antimicrobial additive. The first layer of concrete 4 may have a ground and etched outer surface and comprise an acrylic copolymer, a pigment and a water reducing agent. The first layer of concrete 4 may be wet bonded and cross cured to the second layer of concrete 6. The second layer of concrete may comprise glass reinforced concrete and include pigment, styrene butadiene and water reducing agent. The backing board may be any suitable fibrous board such as MDF. The panel may be used for a kitchen draining board, a kitchen work top, bathroom vanity top, counter top, bar top, table top, sideboard, garden furniture, coffee table, interior panel, shelves or hearths.</p> |
