PURPOSE: To provide a display device capable of substantially suppressing drop in contrast caused by outside light without causing drop in brightness of an original image. CONSTITUTION: Optical cavity structure is constituted with a semitransparent reflecting layer 22 and a reflecting layer 12 interposing an organic EL layer 20, and thereby, light causes multiple interference as shown in arrows F1, F2. The light is incident in a G absorbing filter FG installed on emission pixels of R and B. The transmission property of the G absorbing filter FG is such that the transmission factor in the wavelength region of G where naked-eye visibility is high becomes minimum, and the transmission factor of other R or B becomes maximum. Therefore, the G component of light emitted from emission pixels of R and B is reduced, and the degree of reflection of the outside light in the G band of emission pixels of each color is suppressed low. Influence of outside light on a naked-eye visibility curve y (λ) is reduced since G is high. |
