PURPOSE: An encapsulating metal cap of an organic electroluminescence device and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the flatness of a cross section of the encapsulating metal cap being jointed to a glass substrate by protecting the cross section to be jointed to the glass substrate with a photoresist during the manufacturing process. CONSTITUTION: A photoresist(32) is coated on a cleaned metal sheet(31) for use in packaging. A mask(31) having a predetermined pattern is deposited on the upper surface of the metal sheet(31) coated with the photoresist(32). Exposing the upper surface of the metal sheet(31) is performed. The exposed portion of the upper surface is etched to a predetermined depth. The etching is performed by a wet etching process. The photoresist(32) remaining on the upper surface is removed so that the metal sheet(31) has the predetermined pattern. |
