PURPOSE: A turret head device is provided to reduce the time of an index by selectively driving a turret head and a rotating tool and reducing the inertial force when a turret rotates and to minimize the volume of a housing by reducing the number of parts. CONSTITUTION: A first external spur gear(103) formed on a side portion of a motor shaft(102) receives the rotational power from a drive motor(101). A spur gear(105) has a spline portion and engages with a side portion of the first external spur gear. An orbiting curvic coupling(108) engages with a spline spur gear(106) when a cylinder(104) moves backward by the hydraulic pressure. A ring gear(109) engages with the spline spur gear when the cylinder moves forward. A fixed curvic coupling(111) is formed on the inner face of the ring gear. A piston curvic coupling(110) has a profile facing the profile of the fixed curvic coupling or the orbiting curvic coupling. A second shaft(112) is formed in the inner center of the piston curvic coupling and the fixed curvic coupling. A small gear(114) installed on the side of the housing interlocks with the ring gear and transmits the rotational power to a rotating tool(120).
