HAND HELD ACQUISITION NOTEBOOK

A data capture system is provided which allows timely repetitive manual administration work to be reduced and has particular application in the police force. A plurality of hand held data capture instruments (1) can be used to complete standard forms and take evidence using handwriting recognition or a touch screen keyboard. The data can be transferred to a centralised data processing IT system (2) where it may be stored in an encrypted form. In one embodiment, data may be transmitted from the data capture instruments to the central processing means by an intermediate docking station (3).
