A mobile wireless communication system, in which a mobile station in a wireless zone is notified of a position registration area number from a base station, in which storage means is registered with positional information indicating a position registration area where said mobile station is present, on the basis of the position registration information sent from the mobile station, and in which general callings are made from a plurality of base stations in the position registration area where said mobile station is present, at the time of receiving signals by the mobile station on the basis of the positional information read out from said storage means. Even if the mobile station does not send the position registration information to the Net side, the position registration area of said mobile station can be automatically updated on the Net side. Therefore, the Net side is registered in advance with rules for predicting a mode in which the mobile station changes the position registration area as its moves. It is then confirmed at each mobile station whether or not the said rules can be applied. If an applicable state comes, the position registration area of said mobile station is updated on the basis of said rules.
