ANTIPERSPIRANT OR DEODORANT COMPOSITIONS

Antiperspirant compositions comprising an astringent aluminium or zirconium salt can suffer from perceived irritancy when applied topically, which can be ameliorated or overcome by incorporating within the composition a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) activating fatty acid and/or hydrolysable precursor thereof such as triglyceride or ester of the PPAR, especially in an amount selected in the range of from 0.5 to 10 wt. %. The compositions advantageously comprise an activated aluminium salt or aluminium-zirconium glycine complex.
